Atlanta rezonings
Every zoning map amendment the Atlanta City Council has acted on, read from the Department of City Planning's record of rezoning cases, mapped to the parcel, and searchable by address, zoning class, direction, council district and year.
What the record will hold
- The zoning class before and after each case, as the Department recorded it and as the signed ordinance reads.
- The docket and ordinance numbers, the Council's final action and its date, and a link to the signed ordinance.
- Cases the Council denied and cases withdrawn before a vote, which a record built from passed ordinances alone cannot show.
- The parcel outline of each site, not only a pin.
- A direction for each change, up, down or lateral, on the measure the zoning ordinance applies to that district.
The Department's record is structured, so the two stages that are hardest for Chicago, reading the amendment clause out of the ordinance and locating the address, become checks here rather than the source.
